Let me share with you some of my daily habits that make up the routine that help me feel my best and that I keep coming back to every time I fall back or feel like I need to get out of a slump.
PRIORITIZING MY SLEEP & PEACE OF MIND
Sleep to me is important above all else. It’s one of the pillars of health, hormonal balance and overall happiness because of all body mechanisms sleep is involved in. I CANNOT function properly without minimum 8 hours of sleep, not to mention be in a good mood 😅
I still to this day cannot manage to fall asleep before midnight (but I’m working on it!) and wake up in the morning without an alarm. Waking up when my body wants to and not interrupting my sleep cycles and pattern was a game changer for me, I wake up feeling rested, in such a better mood to start my day the right way.
Peace of mind is also one of my highest priority. I’ll talk more about this in another article.
KEEPING MY STRESS LEVELS THE LOWEST POSSIBLE
Another one of my priorities and this year has been the year I dove deep into learning about our nervous system & the effects of stress and started implemented new simple routines into my daily life. Mostly learning how to decode the ways stress was showing up in my body and health and implementing nervous system regulation exercises but again, I’ll share more on this in another article 🙃
RITUALIZING MY MORNINGS
I try to always start the day with a slow morning, no rush, no stress, minimum time on my phone and some time outside for natural light. I don’t have a fixed morning routine but I usually do some affirmations and visualization before getting out of bed, and then do a morning meditation, some intuitive movement or a pilates workout or yoga if I feel like it and have breakfast (light if I am not hungry). The are my essentials.
GRANTING MYSELF SOME ALONE TIME
A thing that I understood recently through decoding my Human Design is that having an undefined Solar Plexus energy center, I tend to take on people’s emotions, feelings and energies as my own. I always knew I was highly sensitive but did not comprehend it that way until Human Design really brought a light on that so clearly. At the end of the day this really has an impact on me, my energy levels, my stress levels and the way I am feeling.
Granting myself some alone time to stay in my OWN energy + taking time to analyze all the things I am feeling through journaling & asking myself if these emotions are mine or someone else’s I’ve picked up really helps me.
DRINKING LOTS OF WATER & TEA
I know this sounds simple but hydration really is such a key to your health but also your mood. That is simply because our cortisol levels go up the roof when we are dehydrated. If you drink coffee, make sure to hydrate even more as coffee has a diuretic effect (just like alcohol) which causes your body to lose hydration way more.
Another trick I learned this year thats is game changer is to drink warm water (or herbal tea) during my meals, it helps with digestion and all my bloating issues are GONE. If you’re curious why, it’s simply because the cold water you drink during your meals cools the temperature of your stomach during digestion, making digestion slower and less efficient, hence the bloating.
EATING A NUTRIENT RICH WHOLE FOOD DIET
I make sure to eat a rich, whole, colorful, unprocessed, full of nutrients & organic diet. This year I switched to organic (for almost everything) and I am never going back. I try to diversify what I eat: the more colors & different types of veggies, fruits, legumes, grains and nuts you can eat, the better. I also eat a vegetarian diet but you don’t necessarily have to in order to be healthy, but reducing animal products definitely benefits your health.
CYCLE SYNCING
I started to sync my lifestyle with my cycles to balance my hormones and it made SUCH a difference on my life. I feel better, I have more energy, my cycles are regular, my mood are so stable, all cravings are long gone, I feel lighter and happy, my PMS symptoms improved, I feel less bloated and said goodbye to fluid retention, I sleep way better etc etc. What I love about cycle syncing is that it has a holistic approach that help you improve all areas of your health and life.
The book I read to start cycle syncing and that explains EVERYTHING you need to know is ‘In the Flo’ by Alisa Vitti, I would definitely recommend it.
STAYING IN THE FREQUENCY
This is the most important aspect to achieve in order to manifest effectively: staying on the frequency of your elevated self, as much as possible during the day.
This is to me the highest form of self care and the ultimate goal of all self care & manifestation practices. To feel like & embody the highest version of you. And by that I mean living your life embodying your highest frequency, the energy of your future self, the one that is already living your desires and dreams. Energy is everything and the universe responds to your frequency, not necessarily what you want.
